Basilio G. Monteiro is Associate Professor, Division of Mass Communications, College of Professional Studies, of St. John’s University (NY), and a Vincentian Research Fellow. His areas of particular research interest are international communication and development, media and public policy and theology of communication.

Communicating Religion in the Evolving Environment of New Media and Changing Society

This workshop will look ahead to the next 10 years and examine the evolution and the emerging understanding of religion in the fast changing globalized and diasporic (multi-local) society and the challenges to communicate faith and religion. Since other workshops will focus on the emerging media technology, this workshop will focus on the evolving technologized society and the shifting understanding of religion.
